Devizes is a market town in Wiltshire, England. It is situated near to Market Lavington, Calne, Bromham and Seend and is one of around 40 towns and villages in Wiltshire in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Salisbury (population 43,355), Bristol (population 420,556), and Gloucester (which has a population of 123,205 according to the 2001 Census).
The town has grown up around the 11th century Norman Castle in the midst, and now has over five hundred listed buildings. A highlight of the town is the green in the centre as well as the regular markets.
